SOUND DEVICES WIRELESS SYSTEMS

27 items

Designed for sound recordists and professional sound engineers, Sound Devices wireless systems feature a host of features and functionality that suits the needs of the more discerning user.

The below products employ SpectraBand technology that enables the device to be tuned to a ‘super wide’ range of 470-1525MHz. Tuning within this range varies by country, for instance in the UK, the available frequency ranges are:

  • The core UK UHF TV band (470-702 MHz)
  • The 800 MHz duplex gap (823-832 MHz)
  • The 800 MHz guard band (863-865 MHz)
  • The DME bands (961-1015 MHz, 1045-1075 MHz, 1105-1154 MHz), with an appropriate license.
  • The IMT band (1518-1525 MHz)

Usage Note: Licensing and legal use information for radiomic equipment in this product group is applicable to the UK only. Customers should check with the relevant regulatory body for the territory the equipment is to be used in prior to purchase to ensure appropriate legal usage and local environmental restrictions.

Sound Devices offer the following link (https://www.sounddevices.com/available-frequencies/) as a resource for further detailed information on which frequency ranges are available for each country.

RECEIVERS

A20-NEXUS GO

Sound Devices A20-Nexus Go is multichannel wireless microphone receiver in a compact 1U, half-rack wide chassis. It features 4 independent, true-diversity channels that can be expanded to 6 or 8 true-diversity channels via optional software license (see optional accessories below). A20-Nexus Go has features including SpectraBand technology and NexLink – an integrated, long-distance remote control of all wireless transmitters, including group power on/off over 2.4GHz. GainForward support for use with a compatible A20 transmitter eliminates the need to adjust microphone gain at the transmitter stage. The audio levels can be controlled on the Nexus Go, or on connected 8-series mixer.

A20-Nexus Go can be used in a portable bag setup or mounted in a standard 19-inch rack using the optional A20-Shelf. Additionally, the receiver can be docked to a Sound Devices 8-series, or Scorpio mixer-recorder using the A20-QuickDock accessory. When connected to a compatible device, the A20-QuickDock provides power, audio, and timecode connections with no additional cables – allowing the A20-Nexus Go to connect and disconnect ‘in seconds’ without the need for tools. SpectraBand enables a tuning range of 169 - 1525MHz in 25kHz steps, however not all may be accessible in the country of use.

The front facing panel houses four colour OLED touchscreens that allow control and monitoring. These touchscreens can be locked to prevent unauthorised tampering, switched to screensaver mode to prevent burnout, and touch disabled. A multifunctional triangular button allows for power up and down, and screen view cycling. A rotary controller allows for menu control and selection, and a surrounding, multicolour ring LED signifies power, sync, and lockout statuses. A and B antenna inputs are provided via BNC connectors, which are compatible with active, passive, or smart antenna.

The rear facing panel has connectivity including antenna input connectors A and B, which can also be employed as cascade outputs; audio output via 25-pin D-sub connection, 2x 2.4GHz antenna connections for use with NexLink feature, LTC/word clock input via BNC, dual 4-pin Hirose DC power outputs, DC input via TA4-M connection, and USB-A port for pairing, syncing, USB keyboard connection, or USB thumbdrive connection. A20-NEXUS

Sound Devices A20-Nexus is ‘high performance’, 8, 12, or 16-channel wireless microphone receiver in a compact 1U, half-rack wide chassis. Features include eight independent, true-diversity channels which can be expanded to 12 or 16 true-diversity channels via software license (see optional accessories). A20-Nexus features many of the features of the A20-Nexus Go including NexLink, and 169 - 1525MHz SpectraBand technology, GainForward. This receiver can also be docked to an 8-series or Scorpio mixer using the A20-QuickDock.

In addition to the above features, A20-Nexus can be powered by PoE+, has 16-channel I/O Dante audio-over-IP, and built-in web server for control via phone, tablet, or computer. Integrated real time spectrum analyzer (RTSA) and scanning aids intuitive frequency coordination, whilst and AutoAssign feature allows automatic deployment of clean frequencies in a matter of seconds. Connection to an optical fibre network can be made when an optional modular network transceiver is inserted into the SFP slot.

The front facing panel houses four colour OLED touchscreens that allow control and monitoring. These touchscreens can be locked to prevent unauthorised tampering, switched to screensaver mode to prevent burnout, and touch disabled.
